The 2nd generation Playstation Portable that we knew called NGP (Next Generation Portable) is now finally revealed by Sony Computer Entertainment president Kaz Hirai to be officially called “Playstation Vita”.
In Latin the meaning of Vita is “Life”.

This new device will support OLED, touchscreen, 3G and WIFI capabilities. The Playstation Vita will be backwards compatible with Playstation Portable games. Like the Nintendo 3DS a new feature called “Near” that allows gamers to find what other PS Vita owners in the nearby are currently playing and what titles are popular.
Sony PS Vita will have 2 models.
- Wi-Fi Model: 24,980 Yen, $249 and euro 249
- 3G/Wi-Fi Model: 29,980 Yen, $299 and euro 299
PSP 2 release date will be this end of 2011 so save up your money to have your Christmas give this December.
